The Punjab Government has launched the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, a major financial assistance initiative aimed at supporting women across the state. Under this scheme, eligible women from the General, OBC, and EWS categories receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category receive ₹1,500 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts. The scheme was officially rolled out on 1 July 2026, with the government releasing an advance payment covering three months (July, August, and September) in a single installment. More than 36 lakh women beneficiaries across Punjab have already received the financial assistance, making it one of the state's largest women welfare initiatives.
