The wait is finally over! The Punjab Government has officially begun disbursing financial assistance under the Mukh Mantri Mavan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana from 1 July 2026, bringing relief to lakhs of eligible women across the state. Under the first phase of the scheme, beneficiaries are receiving three months' assistance in a single installment through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Women from the General, OBC, and other eligible categories are receiving ₹3,000, while eligible Scheduled Caste (SC) women are receiving ₹4,500 for the first three months. More than 50 lakh women have already been registered under the scheme. The registration process is being managed by the Punjab Department of Social Security and Women & Child Development through Anganwadi Centres. Initially launched on a pilot basis in selected Assembly constituencies, the scheme has expanded to benefit eligible women across Punjab. After registration, every application undergoes a verification process, and once approved, the financial assistance is credited directly to the beneficiary's bank account. The Mukh Mantri Mavan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana was announced during the Punjab Budget 2026–27 on the occasion of International Women's Day (8 March 2026). The initiative aims to empower women by providing monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to eligible women from the General, OBC, and other eligible categories, while SC women receive ₹1,500 per month.
