The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), led by President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, has demanded the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann following the recent directive issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Addressing the media after a special meeting of the SGPC Executive Committee in Amritsar, Dhami stated that Mann has no moral right to continue as Chief Minister in light of the Akal Takht's order concerning an alleged objectionable video that reportedly hurt Sikh religious sentiments. The SGPC also announced a General House meeting on June 27 at Teja Singh Samundri Hall to discuss the issue further and outline future action. Additionally, the committee plans to organize large constituency-level gatherings across Punjab to encourage the Sikh community to respect and follow the directives of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Dhami emphasized that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the supreme temporal authority of the Sikh Panth and called upon Sikhs worldwide to uphold its traditions, discipline, and decisions.
