The law provides stringent punishment, including life imprisonment and heavy fines, for those found guilty of committing beadbi (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. During his address, Bhagwant Mann stated that any individual involved in the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will face severe legal consequences. He emphasized that acts of sacrilege hurt the religious sentiments of millions and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. The Chief Minister also highlighted that conspiracies aimed at disturbing public peace, communal harmony, or creating unrest through sacrilege will attract the harshest punishments under the amended law.
