Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off India’s first hydrogen-powered train from Jind Railway Station in Haryana. Named “NaMo Green Rail,” this groundbreaking 10-coach train will operate on the approximately 89-km route between Jind and Sonipat. Powered by indigenous hydrogen fuel-cell technology, the train generates electricity onboard without relying on diesel. Its fuel-cell system produces zero emissions at the point of operation, releasing only water vapour and supporting India’s journey towards cleaner and more sustainable railway transportation. 🔹 Passenger Capacity: Around 2,600 passengers 🔹 Operational Speed: Up to 75 km/h 🔹 Design Speed: Up to 110 km/h 🔹 Route: Jind Junction–Gohana Junction–Sonipat 🔹 Journey Duration: Approximately two hours 🔹 Stops: 12 intermediate halts 🔹 Coaches: 10-car train configuration
