Charges under IPC Sections 295A, 120B, and IT Act Section 67 were filed against Rao, co-star Shruti Haasan, the director, and producers. Shruti Haasan has since been cleared; however, Rao and others are still facing the allegations. His lawyer emphasized the film’s CBFC clearance and defended the portrayal as a form of artistic expression rather than religious offense.
