JSW Gecko Motors Private Limited, a part of the JSW Group, has deployed its amphibious all-terrain vehicles, known as the Specialist Mobility Vehicle SMVN1200 ATOR, to assist the civil administration in ongoing search and rescue operations during the severe flooding in Punjab. In response to a request for assistance from authorities in the flood-affected areas of Amritsar and Sultanpur Lodhi, the senior management of JSW Group decided to send four of its own vehicles. These vehicles are currently operating under the command of the District Collector’s Office (Amritsar) and in coordination with the SDRF, NDRF, and the Indian Army, which have deployed personnel to assist with the operations. The vehicles are being used to rescue human lives and deliver essential supplies, including food and medicine, following directives from the local civil administration to support and enhance the efforts of the SDRF teams. JSW Gecko Motors has been actively engaging with the NDRF and SDRFs of various states to encourage the inclusion of these vehicles in their inventories. It is hoped that, after witnessing the vehicles' performance in extreme conditions, agencies will seriously consider acquiring them. Currently, these vehicles are being provided by JSW Gecko Motors purely as humanitarian aid, in full support of the civil administration’s relief efforts.
