Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday visited flood-affected villages, including Hazara Singh Wala and Gatti Rajo Ke, after entering from the Hussainiwala border. Moved by the plight of elderly women and villagers, Mann was seen in tears while listening to their grievances. Speaking to the media, Mann said Punjab is facing a severe crisis, adding that “no one has control over nature.” He urged the Centre to release Punjab’s pending GST funds of ₹50,000 crore, stating that the amount could significantly help flood-hit families. Mann also shared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called him to enquire about the situation. He said the extent of losses would be reported to the Centre once floodwaters receded. “If the Centre extends support, it will be welcome. If not, Punjab will still find a way to help its people,” he asserted.
