#cotton #pest The pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) is one of the most destructive pests of cotton. Though probably native to India, it is now distributed worldwide. It bores into cotton bolls, devouring blossoms and seeds. The pinkish-coloured larva generally pupates in inside a boll or flruit body. The adult is a small, thin, gray moth with fringed wings. The larva is a dull white caterpillar with eight pairs of legs wiith conspicuous pink banding along its dorsum. The larva reaches one half inch in length.
