Join us on an unforgettable tour of the world-famous Tequila Town in Jalisco, Mexico – the birthplace of tequila! We booked our experience with Ice Tequila Tours, and it was nothing short of spectacular! 🚌 The colorful tour buses, energetic atmosphere, and our super entertaining guide made the journey lively from the very beginning. The ride was full of music, tequila tastings, and traditional dance performances that kept everyone engaged and smiling. 🏭 One of the highlights was visiting a historic tequila distillery from 1926, where we witnessed the entire tequila-making process – from harvesting the raw agave plant to fermentation and distillation. Interestingly, the whole setup reminded us of how raw sugar is made from sugarcane in Punjab, India – even the aroma was strikingly similar to a Punjabi sugar mill! 🪵 We also explored the aging room where tequila is stored in barrels. It was fascinating to learn how aging affects the taste, texture, and strength of different tequila types. Of course, there were multiple tasting rounds – and many people couldn’t resist buying a bottle or two! 👻 Right next to the distillery was a very old dhobighat (traditional clothes-washing station) with a local legend – people say a woman still washes clothes there, even after her death... 👀 🌾 Later, the tour took us to a beautiful farmhouse surrounded by agave fields, where we saw agave plants up close and learned how they are harvested. At the farmhouse’s restaurant, we enjoyed delicious cocktails and danced to Mexican music with fellow tourists and our guide – such a lively and memorable experience! ✨ Overall, this was one of the most fun and educational days of our trip to Mexico. If you're ever in Jalisco, we highly recommend exploring the town of Tequila and doing a distillery tour.
