A shocking incident of sacrilege (Beadbi) has been reported from the Raja Garden area near Basti Bawa Khel in Jalandhar, where torn sacred pages (angs) of a Gutka Sahib were found scattered across lanes and inside a vacant plot late Monday evening. The incident immediately triggered tension and anger among local residents and Sikh communities. After receiving information about the incident, Nihang jathas, local residents, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Iqbal Singh Bagga reached the spot and respectfully collected the sacred pages. Sikh organizations and local committees also gathered at the location, strongly condemning the act and demanding immediate arrest and strict punishment for those responsible. The situation remained tense as police officials, including ACP-West Aatish Bhatia, arrived at the scene to control the situation and assure the public of strict action. Police have registered a case against unknown persons and launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits behind the sacrilege incident. The case has gained major attention as it comes amid ongoing debates and controversy surrounding Punjab’s newly enacted anti-sacrilege law.
