On our Japan tour, we explored two of the most futuristic and iconic experiences of the country! First, we visited the Yamanashi Prefecture Maglev train testing site, where the future of high-speed travel is being created. Inside the Exhibition Centre, we saw interactive demos and scale models explaining how magnetic poles lift the train and help it achieve its world record speed of 603 km/h on 42.8 Km long testing track – faster than airplanes on some routes! After this mind-blowing technology experience, we headed to Shibuya, Tokyo – home to the world’s busiest pedestrian crossing. On a Saturday night, the vibe was electrifying – live music, party buses, glowing neon lights, and thousands of people crossing together. At one time, 3,000–4,000 people cross the intersection, and being part of that massive crowd was unforgettable. We also explored a unique eco-innovation near Shibuya: piezoelectric sidewalks that generate electricity from footsteps. With more than 250,000 people walking daily, this clean energy project shows how Japan is leading in both technology and sustainability.
