Turquoise blue waters in the middle of winter? 😍 In this video, we hike to Grassi Lakes in Kananaskis Country, Alberta during February — but the trail turned into a complete skating rink! ❄️ With snow melting during the day and freezing at night, the hike became extremely slippery. Grassi Lakes is known as a family-friendly and easy hike near Canmore, but winter conditions made it much more challenging. The parking lot was almost full even in February, showing how popular this Alberta hiking trail is year-round. From icy sections to stunning turquoise lake views, this winter adventure was unforgettable. We came prepared for the slippery trail and carefully made our way to the top. The lakes were not fully frozen, and the green, blue, and turquoise colors were clearly visible — making it one of the most beautiful winter hikes in the Canadian Rockies.
