In this video, we take you to the famous town of Tequila in Mexico, the birthplace of the iconic drink – Tequila! As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with shops full of huge tequila bottles and barrels. Every corner celebrated this world-famous drink! The town felt old and rustic, with narrow streets and charming colonial-style buildings. Finding parking near the main plaza was a challenge, but once we found a spot, we began exploring on foot. The market reminded us a lot of Punjab, India – busy, colorful, and full of life. One of the most heartwarming moments was meeting a local bread maker who spotted us and was curious about our turbans. We explained we are from Punjab, India, and he kindly invited us into his bakery. He showed us how he makes fresh bread from corn flour and offered us to taste it – it was delicious, and we ended up buying a pack! At the main plaza, we saw performers in traditional Mexican dresses putting on a cultural show. We also noticed tour buses shaped like giant tequila barrels – such a cool idea! We spoke to a tour guide and booked a tour, but first, we grabbed a bite at a roadside eatery that reminded us of a Punjabi dhaba.
